Kindred Skies Official Writes a Way Home on “Heaven Is Waiting”

A cinematic Christian song for anyone carrying grief, from a songwriter who wants the music to meet people on their hardest days.

The cover of “Heaven Is Waiting” shows two hands reaching for each other through a break in the clouds. One comes down out of the light. One reaches up. They have not touched yet, and they are close. That picture is the whole song: a promise held out to people who are still on this side of the clouds, missing someone.

“My hope is that ‘Heaven Is Waiting’ helps someone facing grief or uncertainty feel less alone, and reminds them that pain does not have the final word.”

Peter Soord, Kindred Skies Official

A song that takes its time

“Heaven Is Waiting” came out on October 23 and runs 5:28. That is long for a single, and it feels right for this one. Grief does not keep to a radio edit. The song is built cinematic and unhurried, and it gives its message room to land: eternal peace, reunion with the people we have lost, and the hope of a life beyond suffering.

What we keep coming back to is who the song is for. It is not a victory lap or a sermon. It is written for someone in a difficult season of faith, the person who still believes but is tired, or the person sitting with an empty chair at the table. “Heaven Is Waiting” does not ask them to feel better right away. It sits down next to them and points at the light.

The songwriter behind the sky

Kindred Skies Official is the project of songwriter Peter Soord. He writes the lyrics and shapes each song’s story, structure, arrangement and final direction. As the project says openly on its own site, the performances are brought to life with modern production tools, including AI-assisted vocals and music. The words, the message and the creative decisions are his.

Those words keep returning to the same ground: faith, loss, perseverance, and the comfort of trusting God when the road is long. Songs like “The Cross,” “The Scourging Post” and “At the Table” retell familiar truths in a way that feels close and personal. Others, like “This Too Shall Pass,” are written straight to someone in the middle of a storm. The guiding line for all of it is simple: “Music that connects us all.”

He has been busy. Since spring 2026, Kindred Skies Official has put out more than twenty songs on Spotify, a steady stream of new music that has drawn thoughtful reviews from faith and indie music blogs along the way. A small community has also grown up around the songs, a gathering place the project calls The Porch, where listeners share encouragement, prayer and a bit of laughter. You get the sense that part means as much to him as the music does.
