Founded in 2012 by Canadian curator Alex (they/them), FRINGE MUSIC FIX is an independent, human-curated music blog and visual broadcasting platform dedicated to championing alternative, indie, electronic, and experimental artists from around the globe. Positioned as a direct counterweight to corporate streaming algorithms, the project operates under a pirate-radio ethos—captured through its "FRINGE MUSIC FIX TV" concept—to guide listeners toward the dissonant, defiant, and divine corners of the underground. With a strong, intentional focus on amplifying LGBTQ+ creators, gender-diverse artists, and localized independent scenes like Northern Ontario, the site delivers curated music video streams via its VIDEOFLOW hub, alongside weekly playlists, genre-focused roundups, and historical retrospective archives spanning decades of alternative music.
