Tips for pitching edm curators
Pitch the right edit
Many playlists prefer radio edits over extended mixes. If your extended mix has a long intro, consider pitching the edit instead.
Stay within the playlist's energy
A deep house playlist and a big room playlist share almost no listeners. Match the tempo and intensity of the playlist you are pitching.
Mention the label or release context
If the track is part of an EP or on a label, say so in your pitch. It helps curators place it next to the right records.
EDM pitching questions
Can DJs submit mixes or DJ sets?+
Submissions are single Spotify tracks. Continuous mixes rarely fit playlists, so pitch individual tracks from your release.
Do electronic curators accept remixes?+
Many do, as long as the remix is officially released on Spotify. Mention the original artist in your pitch.
Which electronic sub-genres can I target?+
You can target dozens of styles, including House, Tech House, Melodic Techno, Drum & Bass, Trance, Future Bass, UK Garage and Downtempo.
